Operating Instructions for the FAG Induction Heating Device A45EA110
Application Induction heating of ring-shaped metal workpieces with 110 mm bore diameter up to some 800 mm outside diameter. The workpiece may weigh up to some 250 kg.
Function A current-carrying coil with an iron core (primary coil) generates in a secondary circuit (rolling bearing or other ring-shaped metal parts) a high induction current at a low voltage. The inserted part is heated quickly. Non-metallic parts, such as seals and cages, are not headed, and the device itself remains cold.
Modes of operation Mode 1 ,,Temperature hold’’ Free adjustment of the heating temperature (from 40 to 240°C). The device keeps the workpiece automatically at the selected temperature. Mode 2 ,,Temperature switch-off’’ Free adjustment of the heating temperature (from 40 to 240°C). After reaching the selected temperature the workpiece is automatically demagnetized; the device switches off. Mode 3 ,,Time control’’ Heat-up time freely adjustable up to 60 minutes. After reaching the selected heat-up time the workpiece is automatically demagnetized; the device switches off. Additional functions:
Demagnetization without heating-up
Power reduction
Programme interruption
Calling up target/actual temperature and time
Description of the device The device is placed on a sturdy trolley; the swivel wheel can be locked. The all steel construction is coated with synthetic resin which is resistant to impacts and corrosion. The slewing mechanism facilitates loading of heavy parts. The clearly-arranged operating panel with its clear-cut symbols for the modes of operation can also be operated with working gloves. The foil keyboard is oil resistant, dustproof and waterproof. The basic design of the device is supplied with a magnetic temperature sensor. The microprocessor-controlled power electronics is designed as a service-friendly module construction. The heating process can be interrupted and restarted again at any time. After each stop the workpiece is automatically demagnetized. If the switched-on device is out-of-use for more than five minutes it switches off. Operation is started again by pressing one of the mode selector keys. A thermal protective circuit protects the primary coil from overheating at heavy constant loads. It also switches off if operating or function errors arise; the type of error is indicated on the display. The FAG heating device A45EA110 is designed in accordance with the VDE (German Electricity Association) Standard; it is supplied for a voltage range from 200 to 600 V and for a mains frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.
Size of workpieces By means of the basic device workpieces weighing up to 250 kg can be heated in the modes of operation 1, 2, or 3. An FAG spherical roller bearing 23260MB weighing 195 kg for instance is heated from 20 to 80°C within some six minutes
