Medias description
Axial deep groove ball bearings 543, main dimensions to DIN 711/ISO 104, double direction, with spherical housing locating washers, separable
The 54312 FAG is a double-direction thrust ball bearing, also referred to as a thrust bearing or axial deep groove ball bearing. This bearing type consists of a shaft washer, two housing washers, and two ball and cage assemblies. Thrust ball bearings have an open design. High rotational speeds are made possible by the ball elements. As thrust ball bearings are separable, the components can be easily assembled independently of each other.
Double-direction thrust ball bearings are suitable for axial loads in both directions, permitting axial locating of the shaft in either direction. However, these bearings are not intended for radial loads. The shaft washer is mounted on the shaft and rotates along with it, while the housing washers have a slightly larger bore diameter, providing clearance for free shaft movement. Additionally, these housing washers feature spherical seats, which allow the 54312 FAG to be combined with (separately available) spherical seat washers. This combination accommodates minor misalignments between the shaft and housing.
