Product description

The 14137A Timken is a cone for a single-row tapered roller bearing. This removable cone consists of the inner ring and rollers of the bearing. Together with a separately available cup (or outer ring), these parts make up a complete tapered roller bearing. The inner and outer rings have conical raceways and the rollers are tapered. This design enables tapered roller bearings to absorb radial and axial forces (in one direction).

The geometrical qualities of tapered roller bearings prevent sliding movements between the raceways and rollers. This will keep component wear down to a minimum. However, a minimum load is required for proper bearing operation. Because cone and cup are separable, they can easily be mounted. In addition, end play (axial clearance) or preload can be adjusted by moving the components axially during assembly.

For reliable operation of your bearing, it is best to replace cone and cup at the same time. We recommend taking components from the same manufacturer. This prevents bearing problems caused by different internal bearing profiles, differences in material, and in tolerances. Always combine the 14137A Timken with a matching cup from the same manufacturer.
