Ball bearings consist of an inner and outer ring with a series of balls in between. Usually, the balls are held in place by a cage. However, there are also full-complement designs without a bearing cage. Ball bearings can handle radial, axial, or combined forces. They are suitable for higher speeds than roller bearings but have a limited load-carrying capacity. There are versions available with and without seals.
